In support of 2K Sports’ latest hoops game, NBA 2K6, and its soundtrack, The Tracks, will be the nationwide “Bounce” tour, which is taking place in more than 30 top markets from October to November. This is the first in a new series of annual live events that bridge hip-hop, sports and video game culture by featuring renowned music artists, sports gaming kiosks, projection vignettes and celebrity and professional athlete appearances. Before each event, the 2K bus will house videogame consoles and plasma screens at the venue where fans can play the game while listening to the soundtrack.
Headlining the tour will be Def Jam’s newest additions, The Roots, as they hit the road beginning October 6th. The tour will coincide with the hip-hop heavy NBA 2K6 soundtrack which boasts 14 original tracks created exclusively for the game by artists such as The Roots, Redman, Common, RJD2, Jean Grae, Aceyalone, Aesop Rock, Lyrics Born, Blackalicious, Zion I, Hieroglyphics and more. In addition to appearing in the game, these songs will be released by Decon Records on a compilation CD entitled “2K6 The Tracks.”
The Roots, along with everyone else on the soundtrack, will also have their likeness appear in the game as playable characters.
