Chief Keef’s Bang 3 release party ran into an unexpected hiccup. The show which was scheduled to take place on September 18 at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood was blocked by AEG following an altercation that took place during a pre-show walk-through on Wednesday, September 16. AEG owns the Fonda Theater.
Grant Zimmerman, A&R at FilmOn Music, which is releasing Keef’s Bang 3, was on hand during the confrontation. “Security tried to attack a staff member for drinking the Fonda’s water during an official walk-through for the event,” he says to DX in an exclusive conversation. “Unfortunately the Fonda tried to stop us from throwing an amazing event due to a lack of professionalism on their end, but the show will go on.”
A statement released by FilmOn Music says the label has filed a complaint with the LAPD.
“AEG and the Fonda Theater have continued the shameful cycle of blaming Hip Hop and the artistic expression of urban youth for their own corporate malfeasance,” says FilmOn and Hologram USA CEO Alki David through a statement. “This follows on the Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s attempts to silence Keef and scapegoat him for his city’s complete inability to solve the war-zone like crisis on the South Side, and on the Madison Square Garden Company’s bumbling attempt to back out of a tri-city peace concert to benefit the family of a murdered baby.”

Along with Keef, Joey Fatt$ is scheduled to perform, along with surprise guests. The event is also slated to feature hologram shows, pop up shops, laser tag and arcade games.
