Kevin Gates released his ISLAH album today (January 29).
The debut album from the Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper is made up of 17 tracks, two more songs than the original tracklist showed. Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign and Jamie Foxx appear on “Jam.” The singles “2 Phones” and “Really Really” are also on the album.
Gates named the album after his daughter.

Kevin Gates posted the tracklist for ISLAH, his debut album, on his Instagram account today (January 4).
Singles “2 Phones” and “Really Really” are among the songs on the 15-track project.
Due January 29, the collection does not feature any guest artists.
In addition to revealing the ISLAH tracklist, the rapper also explained the meaning of the album title.
“ISLAH means to reform, to improve, to make better, and I believe that’s what my first daughter did to me,” Kevin Gates says in a press release. “So I named my first album after my first daughter; because it improved me, it made me better.”

Kevin Gates has changed the release date for Islah, according to a Twitter post made yesterday (November 5).
The project is now slated for a January 29 release, although at the time of publication, the iTunes pre-order page says it is still set for December 11.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper also changed the cover art via Instagram a few weeks ago.

Kevin Gates’ Islah album is slated for a December 11 release, according to iTunes.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper’s project features the single “La Faimilia” and will be a total of 15 tracks.
In July, Kevin Gates discussed his relationship with fellow Louisiana rapper Lil Wayne.
“He gave me a different approach with music,” Kevin Gates said at the time. “I used to sit in there and watch him. Well, I’mma relate it to this. I’mma give you this illustration. You know, to learn how to coke dope good you got to be around a good dope cook. And you know most artists don’t give you their recipe. They don’t let you get in the kitchen with em…So, Wayne let me get in the kitchen with him. You heard me? Me and Tunechi, we in the kitchen late nights. Everybody in the studio sleep. I’m in there just, ‘Yeah, what this do? What that [do]?’”
