Variety.com reports that rapper/actor Ice Cube and his son, O’Shea Jackson Jr. are not involved in the film, April 29, 1992.

The film is reportedly about the L.A. riots, which took place in Los Angeles, California from late April to early May of 1992. The riots were fueled by the verdict in the Rodney King beating case.

Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. have no plans to commit to this project at this time. Any speculations or rumors that suggest that they are confirmed are simply untrue,” read a statement from a rep for Ice Cube, according to Variety.com.

The father and son duo recently worked together on the newly-released N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
