Andre 3000 is set to star in the second season of ABC’s American Crime, according to Variety.
“He’ll be starring opposite Regina King as the parents of a teenager who gets accused of the show’s central crime,” Variety says. “He will play Michael Lacroix, an architect. He and his wife, Terri, are prominent members of the community in which they reside. A true power couple, they have the financial means and the acumen needed to defend their son.”
The OutKast member will be reuniting with the show’s creator John Ridley, who he previously worked with on Jimi: All Is By My Side.
“Working with Andre changed my life, personally and professionally on ‘All Is by My Side,’” Ridley told Variety. “To have him joining me for season two is pretty phenomenal.”

In a statement, Ridley praised Andre 3000’s performance in Jimi: All Is By My Side.
“Personally, I couldn’t be more excited than to work again with Andre. He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and ‘All Is by My Side’ is one of the reasons I was given the reins on ‘American Crime.’ Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by Andre’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say ‘American Crime’ might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration.”
The second season of American Crime will be set in the Midwest and involve crimes of sexual identity and high school students, according to cast member Timothy Hutton.
The season is currently in production.
