Roughly one day after Meek Mill called out fellow rapper Drake on Twitter for not writing his own rhymes, the Philly lyricist has shed some light on his remarks. Video footage obtained from DJ Bran from Wednesday’s (July 22) The Pinkprint tour stop in Virginia shows Meek addressing his recent tweets.

In regards to his tweets about Drake, he revealed that he was “upset as a fan” when he was given a verse Drake didn’t write. He also clarified that girlfriend Nicki Minaj does in fact write all of her own raps.

“I been around Nicki Minaj,” Meek Mill said. “I heard niggas say they write Nicki Minaj’s shit. That’s very not true…Don’t get it twisted. I was just upset as a fan that a nigga gave me a verse that he [Drake] didn’t write. Shout out to Drake. Let him be great in all the mothafucking lanes he great in. But I’m gon’ still be the realest nigga in this bitch!”

While appearing on stage with Minaj during the concert, Meek also offered an apology to the Young Money rapstress. The rapper previously called out both Minaj and Lil Wayne over their knowledge of Drake allegedly working with ghostwriters.

“I want to give a special apology shout out to Nicki Minaj for my crazy ass. Going crazy on Twitter… You can’t be messing with no hood niggas. You know we a little crazy. Make some noise for the queen one time though,” he said.

Earlier this week, in a Twitter rant that appeared to come out of nowhere, Meek took aim at Drake for not writing his own raps. He also revealed that he would have left Drake off of his Dreams Worth More Than Money track, “R.I.C.O.” had he known about the ghostwriting.
