Bobby Shmurda’s trial date was announced today (June 25). The trial is scheduled to start October 5.
XXL spoke with Bobby Shmurda and asked how he’s doing.
“I’m good,” he says. “I’m writing, keeping my spirits up.”

When asked who has been supporting him, Shmurda says that he has gotten help from a handful of rappers. Maino came to visit him. He has talked to Migos, French Montana and Fabolous.
Meek Mill has also reached out. Bobby Shmurda says he has a special relationship with the MMG rapper, who has also been incarcerated.
“Meek sent me some letters,” he says. “I tried to send some back. I’m trying to get in contact with him. I got a lot of love for Meek Mill, man. That’s my guy right there. I got a lot of love for him right there. That’s big bro.”
