Kendrick Lamar, Common, Lecrae, Dee-1, Doug E. Fresh, Kool Moe Dee, Mase, Mystikal and Slick Rick are among the artists scheduled to perform at “2015 Essence Festival presented by Coca-Cola,” which is set to take place July 2-5 in New Orleans.
Missy Elliott, who is slated to perform on the main stage July 4, says that appearing at festival holds a special significance for her given that Essence is a publication geared toward Black women.
“I’m honored to be performing at Essence this year,” Missy Elliott says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “I’ve always heard how live the crowd is and they always been known to have some of the best artists performing, so it’s an honor. I’m humbly grateful and I want to see my fans and we just gonna have a lot of fun.”
Other artists slated to perform include Charlie Wilson, Erykah Badu and Floetry.
