Despite the introduction of Tidal weeks ago, Apple Music has continued to make moves with its new streaming service, Apple Connect. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Drake will release his next album through Apple Connect. Also making headlines this week, Bow Wow comparing himself to Jay Z and MC Ren blasting Universal Pictures for not including him in video promotion for the N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton.

Drake To Release Album On Apple Connect

Canadian singer/rapper Drake will serve as one of the artists whose new music will be featured on Apple Connect, a newly-announced streaming service from Apple Music. Drake revealed the news himself while at an Apple event at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. Unlike other streaming services, Apple Connect will reportedly allow users the opportunity to engage with artists.

Bow Wow Compares Himself To Jay Z

While speaking with XXL magazine, rapped-turned-television host Bow Wow used fellow artist Jay Z to explain when it’s appropriate to leave the rap persona at home. He spoke on Jay Z channeling Shawn Carter when it’s time to handle business.

“I had to go to this CBS event and it was like, I can’t come as Bow Wow,” Bow Wow said during the interview. “There’s a different level of shit. As an actor, I’m standing next to Patricia Arquette—who’s now an Oscar Award winner—and I have to align myself in this elite class. It’s no different than when Jay Z goes as Shawn Carter when he’s suited up handling other business.”

Not every member of the West Coast-based rap group N.W.A is happy with the promotion for the upcoming Straight Outta Comptonbiopic. Earlier this week, MC Ren used Twitter and Instagram to express his thoughts on not being included in the film’s promo trailer.
