A new list discusses how the seemingly separate worlds of Hip-Hop and skating have merged as one.
“Rappers That Skate And Skaters That Rap” is a list from green-label.com naming emcees known for shredding, and their skateboarding counterparts who have a true appreciation for the art of rhyming.
The Hip-Hop name most commonly associated with skating is Pharrell Williams. As the piece says, “Naming himself Skateboard P, Pharrell has had perhaps the greatest impact on urban culture with regards to skating. Going so far as to create his own Ice Cream skate team, he has featured skating in videos like ‘Happy,’ not to mention the endless work he has done as an ambassador of the sport amongst youth.”
