Azealia Banks & Common To Star In RZA-Directed “Coco” Movie

    Azealia Banks is set to star in her first feature film, according to Deadline.

    The Broke With Expensive Taste rapper has reportedly landed the lead role in the Hip Hop-oriented movie Coco.

    Banks will portray an aspiring rapper in her twenties dealing with a difficult dilemma. Her character wants to pursue her dreams and become a rapper, but her parents want her to finish college.

    Coco is being directed by RZA and is presented by Lionsgate and Codeblack Films.

    Common and Jill Scott are also expected to star alongside Banks in the movie.

    Filming is underway, Deadline reports. A release date has not been announced yet.
