Snoop Dogg debuted BUSH at iHeartRadio Theater yesterday (May 11).
The album release party began with a sit-down chat between the REAL 92.3 host Big Boy, Snoop and Pharrell. The three reflected on their history together. Snoop spoke to how he came up with the album concept on a car ride with Skateboard P and that Pharrell was the one pushing him to be “more melodic.”
“There’s nothing I can do to change him,” Pharrell said when Big Boy asked about his and Snoop Dogg’s sessions on BUSH. He went on to talk about the rapper’s affinity for marijuana when creating and that there’s nothing he could do to change the longstanding ritual of the multi-platinum selling artist.

As for his performance, Snoop Dogg dropped 2009’s “I Wanna Rock” to kick off show. He did the next few joints with Pharrell, which included BUSH‘s “Peaches N Cream,” “California Roll” and “So Many Pros.” Kurupt doubled as a rapper-hypeman all night, performing Dr. Dre’s “Let’s Get High” with Snoop Dogg, which was followed by a surprise appearance from Warren G. Snoop also paid homage to the late Tupac with a performance of “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted.”
Snoop Dogg performed with a five-piece band, making each rendition noticeably different than those that appear on the album.
Snoop closed out with “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” but he stayed talking to Big Boy, through the mic, after leaving the stage.

At one point, he clowned the keyboardist that was fixing some lights. “Is the lights back up, my nigga?” He kept repeating the question over and over until the guy on the keys was back in his place.
