Kanye West received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from School of the Art Institute of Chicago today (May 11), according to the Chicago Tribune.

After receiving his degree, Yeezy told students to use “I’m sorry” as a rhetorical devise to push their personal agendas. He also said that life would be easier for everyone now that he has a doctorate.

Dr. West delivered a full speech to SAIC yesterday (May 10). He dropped a lot of names, one being Nike, whom he dissed for not paying him more. “Nike hasn’t done one cool thing this year,” he said.

The shoe company offered him $4 million, he says, but he wanted a unspecified percentage because of his work with the company.

Kanye was once a student at American Academy of Art and later Chicago State University, but did not graduate from either institution. Instead, he pursued a career in music and eventually dropped an album called The College Dropout.

Since, the newly christened Dr. West has expanded beyond rapper-singer-songwriter-producer, adding entrepreneur, film director and fashion designer to his resume.
