A$AP Rocky likened Rap to the dramatized sport of wrestling during his recent CRWN interview with Hip Hop journalist Elliott Wilson.
“Rap is the new wrestling,” he said in front of a live audience at the Tribeca Film Festival Tuesday (April 21).
According to The Wall Street Journal, Rocky claimed rappers are following a new set of rules where they establish a weird moniker, come up with a quirky saying, then wait for the world to pay attention.
A year ago, Rocky’s friend and business partner A$AP Yams called 2014 “the worst year of rap music ever,” a sentiment Rocky agreed with. Now, the A$AP Mob frontman said he’s more selective with who he works with.

“I can’t do no records with people who, creatively, I don’t see eye to eye with,” he said.
