FakeshoreDrive and John Monopoly will present The Go Ill major label A&R showcase on Saturday, May 30 in Chicago, Illinois. The event will be co-hosted by Young Hustle $ and Big Pooch.

Speaking with HipHopDX, John Monopoly says that he’s wanted to organize this type of event for Chicago for a while. Now that he’s achieved success within the music industry, he’s excited to give back to his community.

“I got the idea from watching my friends pay thousands of dollars to local promoters to be opening acts at their concerts,” Monopoly says. “I noticed that they would pay a lot of money but didn’t get all that much real value besides some backstage passes. I asked my man if he would be willing to pay to perform in front of A&Rs that could potentially buy songs from them or get them closer to securing a deal and he said, ‘Absolutely!’ Shortly after I started planning this first event and here we are.”
