In a nearly three-minute long video, Complex offered a brief introduction to Bibi Bourelly, the 20-year-old singer/songwriter who penned Rihanna’s latest record, “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
During a conversation with Noisey, the Berlin, Germany-based songstress revealed that she grew up in a musical background and has written songs since she was a child.
“My dad is a professional musician,” Bibi Bourelly said during her interview with Noisey, according to Complex. “I grew up with bass players from Ghana and Senegal in my kitchen talking about conspiracy theories. I got to tour with my dad at an early age too. So, it’s in my genes. It’s what I do. I didn’t wake up one morning and decide to. I always have. I’ve written songs for 16 years, and I’m 20. It’s my way of communicating.”
In addition to possibly working with Rihanna again, Bourelly revealed that she has her own “new music” in the works.

“People have not seen anything at all yet,” she said. “I have some new music. Very soon.”
The reveal of Bourelly as the songwriter behind “Bitch Better Have My Money” comes shortly after another singer stated that Rihanna “jacked” the song from her.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, Houston, Texas rapper Just Brittany issued the following message, “ATTN: @itsjustbrittany “Betta Have My Money” been on iTunes jacked by@rihanna”
