San Francisco native, DJ J Espinosa won the 2015 Red Bull Thre3style USA National Championship this past weekend (April 5) in Phoenix, Arizona, defeating finalists DJ Akshen, DJ Trayze, DJ Dynamix, and DJ Reed Streets.
In a press release recapping the event, DJ J Espinosa said “The entire time I was performing, I kept thinking about how much talent we’ve seen in this competition, and I knew I needed to nail my set and couldn’t miss a beat. I’m so excited to go home knowing that I put the deejay scene in San Francisco on the map and see my city rally behind that.”
Judged by DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Hedspin, Z-Trip, Skratch Bastid, and Four Color Zack, The Red Bull Thre3style National Finals first began in Western Canada in 2007. According to a press release, the competition is now the world’s largest deejay competition.

DJ J Espinosa will now compete at the Red Bull Thre3style World DJ Championships in Tokyo, Japan in September 2015.
