With his The Iron Way mixtape set for release this coming Friday (March 27), T-Pain sat down with VIBE to discuss some the features fans can expect to hear on the project.

During the conversation, T-Pain revealed that he has a record that features unheard vocals from the late Aaliyah.

“We got Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Young Cash from Nappy Boy [Entertainment], Shawn J from Field Mob — I actually have Aaliyah on a song, I got an Aaliyah feature,” T-Pain says. “These are vocals people [have] never heard before. They were actually doing an Aaliyah album a few years ago and they told me do two songs and I could pick one to keep. I’ve just been kind of holding that one in the vault and once this mixtape came up I was like, ‘This is the time I need to record my verse and my vocals and slam it on this mixtape.’ It’s a slower song. It’s not a ballad. It’s called ‘Girlfriends.’”
