The femcee who paved the way for female rappers such as Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown and Missy Elliott will take her mission of inspiration and transform it into a book titled “Just My Take.” The book includes Lyte‘s own words of inspiration coupled with poetry.

Every morning I’d wake with the anticipation of writing down whatever moved me. Throughout my career I have been inspired by young people across America to speak up and out– and now it’s my turn to hopefully inspire and motivate them at a time when few emcees are willing to give words of advice,” explained Lyte.

For years she has answered numerous questions regarding herself in the music biz. “Just My Take” will give her the opportunity to branch out and share her feelings about life outside of just rhyming. A book signing and release party is scheduled to take place in New York from June 24th to June 26th at the locations below.
