Russell Simmons is looking to make even more moves with his new Def Jam Mobile wireless service. According to the New York Post, Def Jam Mobile signed music artists like Chingy and Method Man to produce new tunes exclusively for mobile phones.

In addition to hip-hop ring tones, the article states, Def Jam Mobile will also offer “sportz tonez,” which will allow sports fans to hear the sounds of their favorite games when their cell phone rings.

The company has also signed licensing deals with various sports stars, including the Knicks’ Stephon Marbury, the Red Sox’ David Ortiz, the Dallas Cowboys’ Roy Williams and the Minnesota Twins’ Torii Hunter, the paper said.
