Just a little over two months since his passing on January 18, A$AP Yams’ cause of death has been announced.

After initially being ruled as a possible drug overdose, various members of the A$AP Mob, including A$AP Ant and later A$AP Rocky, came out to denounce claims that Yams’ death was caused by drugs.

However, Jon Caramanica of the New York Times tweeted yesterday (March 19), that the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled Yams’ death an “accident caused by acute mixed drug intoxication (incl. opiates & benzodiazepine).”

A$AP Yams, whose given name is Steven Rodriguez, died at the age of 26 after being found unconscious and unresponsive at his Brooklyn apartment early in the early hours of January 18. He was then transported to Brooklyn’s Woodhull Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
