Kanye West says that he was listening to Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly while working today (March 16).

Finally back in the studio… starting my day by listening to Kendrick’s new album!!!  Thank you for the music and messaging!!!” West wrote on Twitter.

The Chicago rapper-producer’s longtime collaborator Talib Kweli also praised the Compton, California rapper’s second major label debut album.

“Fans of great music would like to thank @kendricklamar for featuring great artists like @rapsodymusic & @Bilal on this album,” Kweli tweeted yesterday (March 15).

Rapsody, who appears on the collection’s “Complexion (A Zulu Love),” referenced some of the lyrics from the album in her post.

When shit hit the fan, is U still a fan? Show and prove. King Kendrick. Buy multiples. Itunes. Google play. All dat,” she wrote.
