For the first time in his career Big Sean has the #1 album in the country.

Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise debuted at the top spot less than 3,000 units ahead of Kid Rock’s latest album. Lower down the list, Drake fell from #2 to #4 while Chris Brown and Tyga saw their joint album Fan of a Fan: The Album debut at #7.

Big Sean Takes Over #1

With the album already garnering the best reviews of Sean’s fledgling discography, Dark Sky Paradise also becomes his first #1 album on the Billboard 200. The third album from Big Sean sold a total of 139,427 units in its first week of availability, a figure not far off from Nicki Minaj’s recent Pinkprint rollout. Sean’s latest was also streamed more than 17 million times.

Drake Falls To #4

Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late pushed 58,640 copies last week, a 47% drop in sales from the previous week but enough to keep him within reach of the top spot. The latest numbers bring Drake’s total to 682,504 albums sold.

Meanwhile, streams for If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late are still nearly double the amount of the closest runner-up with more than 34 million clocked over the last sales period.

Chris Brown & Tyga Debut At #7

While it sold more than both the #5 and #6 albums on the chart, Chris Brown and Tyga’s Fan of a Fan debuted at #7 following its release last week. Fan of a Fan: The Album sold 51,345 units but was only streamed a little more than 6 million times, a figure that pales in comparison to most of the records directly ahead of it. Chris Brown and Tyga also also sold more than 111,000 single song downloads from the release, a number that helped their total activity account peak at 66,508.
