While his own Mass Appeal debut is set for release on Tuesday (February 24), Fashawn recently sat down with HipHopDX and opened up about his label-mates Run The Jewels and commended the duo’s second album as a fitting first offering from Nas’ indie start-up.
“I’m glad Run the Jewels is the first project off of Mass Appeal,” Fashawn said in a clip that debuted as a part of today’s DX Daily. “I got love for Killer Mike and El-P, those are guys I run into all the time on the road. I think the project is really cutting-edge and an alternative to the rest of that stuff that’s going in music right now. It’s a real breath of fresh air if you will. I urge everyone to go get that project. If you’re a music lover, not necessarily a Hip Hop lover, but if you just love music in general, you need to have that in your collection.”
