An Australian clubgoer who claims he was assaulted by YG and Ty Dolla $ign at a nightclub last month is looking for an apology from the artists in exchange for foregoing any legal actions.
Nelly Yoa, a professional soccer player on the practice team for Melbourne City FC’s Hyundai A-league team, spoke exclusively with HipHopDX on the phone and via email and recounted the incident. He also explained his request for a public or private apology from the West Coast artists. As a regular at the Eve Nightclub where the incident took place on January 25, Yoa says he has access to closed-circuit television footage that clearly shows YG, Ty Dolla $ign and a personal bodyguard kicking and punching him after he refused to leave the V.I.P. room.
After waiting for the artists to arrive at the club, Yoa says that a personal security guard cleared the V.I.P. section of paying customers.
“Once they did arrived in the booth, they did not look impressed with the party-goers,” Yoa says. “All of a sudden their body guard started abusing everyone, asking everyone to leave the V.I.P. booth immediately.”

After refusing to leave the booth, Yoa says the same security guard punched him before YG and Ty Dolla $ign joined in.
“I [wasn’t] gonna leave,” he says. “I had the right to be in there. All of a sudden he punches me. I sort of lean back a little bit. He tried to punch me again. I grabbed his collar and sort of dragged him down as I was falling from his punch. All of a sudden, Ty Dolla $ign punches me. All of a sudden, I see YG comes and kicks me to the side of the face while I was on the ground.”
“I was than [sic] escorted to rear exit of the club. As I was being escorted out, I see TY Dolla $ign, YG and their body guard [sic] leaving as-well coming up right behind me,” he adds in an email. “Ty Dolla $ign caught up to me, at this stage I was very angry and upset. So I wasn’t sure if he wanted to continue to fight me or not. So straight away, I punched him to the right jaw of his face, and I ran. Thats when they started to chase me down the main road outside of the club.”
Representatives for YG and Ty Dolla $ign did not respond by press time.

Nelly Yoa Says His Contract With Melbourne City “Is In Tatters” After The YG & Ty Dolla $ign Incident
After returning to the club, which was apparently subsequently closed for the night, Yoa says security advised him to file a police report. Still, Yoa is calling for an apology by the end of next in exchange for not filing charges.
“At the moment I’m giving both YG, TY Dolla $ign and their body guard [sic] until next week…the chance to apologies [sic] to me publicly or privately,” he says. “Once that happen [sic] I’ll be more than willing to withdraw any legal action against their names. I’m doing this as fan. I’m not trying to sue them. If I took that path in suing both artist, I think they’ll be bankrupt. I’m not after money or in need of it, or settlement, this issue can be resolve like adult [sic] and as role model to the community. So I urge them to do the right thing.”
Yoa also spoke about the fallout from the incident negatively affecting his near-future soccer prospects.
