Fool’s Gold Co-Founder Joshua “Dust La Rock” Prince Passes Away

    Fool’s Gold Records’ co-founder Joshua “Dust La Rock” Prince passed away yesterday (February 2). He was 38.

    Fool’s Gold recently shared the news via its website, within a post titled “RIP Dust La Rock.

    Fool’s Gold’s other co-founder, A-Trak, took to Instagram yesterday evening to share his sentiments.

    “Lost one of my dearest friends today,” he wrote. “RIP Joshua Prince aka Dust La Rock, original Fool’s Gold co-founder… Art director for myself, Fool’s Gold and Duck Sauce. You helped define so much of what I stand for. Love you man. Still can’t believe this.”

    In addition to founding the label, La Rock served as the creative director and chief designer for Fool’s Gold from 2007 – 2012. He designed mixtape covers for Action Bronson, A-Trak, Danny Brown and Duck Sauce, among others.

    Many of the artists La Rock collaborated with expressed their feelings via Twitter:

    “All the booze I consume tonight is for Dust La Rock,” Kid Cudi wrote.

    “RIP Dust La Rock … You inspired me so much!!! .. So shocked at this news .. Can’t fucking believe this!!!!” Danny Brown said.

    The cause of La Rock’s death has not been revealed.
