Puff Daddy Reportedly Bans Son From “Empire” Appearance

Due to the music rights involving those who appear on the Fox television show, “Empire,” Puff Daddy has reportedly banned his adopted son, Quincy Brown from appearing on the show.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Puff “kicked up a huge stink” after he discovered that if Brown was to appear on “Empire,” he would have had to sign over a portion of his music rights for any music that would appear on the show.

Prior to Puff’s alleged “Empire” ban, his adopted son was guaranteed a role on the show. The Bad Boy Records founder is also said to have attempted to speak with those at 20th Century Fox TV to change their policy on music rights, but to no avail.

“Diddy kicked up a huge stink and called all the top brass at 20th Century Fox TV to get them to change their rules over music rights,” a source said while speaking with Page Six. “He said there was no way his son was signing over his intellectual property. So he banned him from the show.”

Despite Puff’s issues surrounding music rights, Brown, who is the son of Puff’s ex Kim Porter and Al B. Sure!, is still being considered for a role in the second season of “Empire.”

“Lee’s super excited about having Quincy on the show,” a source said in regards to “Empire” director Lee Daniels‘ thoughts on the matter.

Among the notable celebrities who have appeared or will appear on “Empire” this season are Naomi Campbell, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, and Snoop Dogg.
