Lil Wayne Reportedly Wants Drake & Nicki Minaj To Leave Cash Money Records With Him

Late last week it was reported that Lil Wayne was preparing to sue Cash Money Records’ co-founder Birdman for an alleged $8 million.

Now, according to new reports made by TMZ, sources close to Lil Wayne say that he plans to take Drake and Nicki Minaj with him when he ultimately leaves his long-time label home, Cash Money Records.

“Our Weezy sources tell us — in addition to demanding millions from Birdman — Wayne plans to sue to ensure all his Young Money Entertainment artists remain under HIS umbrella,” the report states.

However, TMZ continues by citing the distribution deal Cash Money has with all of the Young Money Entertainment artists as a potential problem.

On his latest mixtape’s opening track, a remix of O.T. Genasis’ “CoCo,” Lil Wayne referenced his ties to both Drake and Nicki Minaj.

“I ain’t trippin’, I got Barbie, I got Drake too,” Wayne raps.

    1. Never gonna happen. Besides this is all just a big setup for a new Like Father Like Son album from Birdman and his gay son when they reunite in 3-4 months.

    2. Yo, when I meet ya, I heat ya down
When I greet ya, meet ya with pound
Not the handshake, but the kind that make ya demand a wake
The kind that put land over your face
I pop ya, let doctors stitch ya
      I-N-F-R-A, will not miss ya
I move light, like my shoes too tight
Leave niggas confused from the day to the night
At night, see the light, when the pistol’s sparkin
Daytime it gets dark when that pistol barkin
I keep cash ‘case cops arrest me
‘case kids kidnap me, kids could get back me
You shall repent ‘fore you spend a red cent
If not, you somebody up close to sin
Thou shalt not fuck with raw me, or he
Face a thousand deaths from Mr. Shawn Correy
Carter, rap harder like I’m part of a cult
Like Cuban cigar maker ‘cept I’m hard to smoke
      And y’all choke motherfucka

    3. It’s all a stunt to build buzz for wayne album cause it ain’t got no buzz so they going back and forth so one day they can drop it and everybody gonna b like omg Waynes album dropping like groupies

    4. As an accountant for YMCMB, I can personally confirm that this situation is a mess. I don’t know if I will end up with CM, YM or be forced to move to LA to work for Universal.

    5. Again, Drake and Nicki were signed to cash money first and foremost. Birdman just loaned them out to wayne. Wayne ain’t getting shit when he leaves.

    6. Wayne being disloyal isn’t enough for him. He wants to kill hiphop all together by taking almost every cash money act and turning them into pop stars. If wayne wins, this could be the end of hiphop as cash money is the most successful true hiphop label.

      1. None… I mean NONE of what you just said makes ANY sense. You must be 13 years old or some shit son. True hiphop label? First you say that Wayne is “turning” the artists to pop stars… You think that being under Cash Money is making them more “HipHop”? I pray for the youth.

      2. Birdman was keeping his shit under true hiphop. No pop whatsoever. Now wayne wants to turn them into pop stars, destroying hiphop forever.

      3. Every artist under the Young Money/Cash Money umbrella are already pop artists, none of them are “true hip-hop.” And Cash Money is not the most successful hip-hop label.

      4. Really? Birdman doesn’t want pop artists on his label? Then explain Paris Hilton, Kevin Rudolf, Jay Sean, the Bieber wannabe, and every non-rapping singer signed. Plus, Drake and Nicki have made tons of pop songs like Hold On, Take Care, Super Bass, Starships, etc. Birdman is soing a good job destroying hip-hop on his own.

    7. If Birdman doesn’t want pop artists on Cash Money, then he wouldn’t have signed Paris Hilton, Jay Sean, Kevin Rudolf, the Bieber wannabe, etc., and he wouldn’t allow Drake and Nicki to make pop songs like Hold On, Starships, Take Care, Super Bass, etc. Face it, Birdman doesn’t care about hip-hop, only money, hence the name of the label.

      1. Paris Hilton is a house artist (not pop), Jay Sean is R&B (he’s not on the label anymore), Kevin Rudolf is hardcore rock, and Austin Mahone is R&B. Drake and Nicki have done hiphop and R&B, maybe some house songs. Birdman cares about quality because in order to make money, you have to give them quality.

      2. You can check out hilton’s next single with Baby next month. High off my love. Supposed to be some hard hitting hiphop trap dope.

      3. What’s the difference between house and pop? They’re the same shit. Paris, Jay Sean, Kevin, and Bieber clone Austin are all pop, not R&B or hardcore rock (lol). Drake and Nicki are also pop. Birdman doesn’t care about quality at all. Giving qiuality is not the only way to make money (reality television).

    8. Every artist under the Young Money/Cash Money umbrella are already pop artists, none of them are “true hip-hop.” And Cash Money is not the most successful hip-hop label.

None of them are pop. Cash Money is a diverse label. Mostly hiphop but some rock, some country, some house, but never pop. That’s roc nation, GOOD music, and Aftermath’s shit.

      1. There’s nothing diverse about Cash Money. It’s all pop music. Roc Nation, GOOD, and Aftermath don’t do pop music.

      2. They are either hiphop, R&B, country, rock, or house. GOOD Music, Roc Nation, and Aftermath do nothing but pop like Monster, Love the Way You Lie, and more. Wayne wants to steal young money and make the artists into pop stars. Nicki wants to stay in hiphop and drake want R&B. No pop whatsoever.

      3. Nope. Cash Money is all pop. GOOD, Roc Nation, and Aftermath only do hip-hop, no pop (Monster and Love The Way You Lie are hip-hop songs). Drake and Nicki are already pop artists making pop music, no hip-hop or R&B, has nothing to do with Wayne.

      4. You got it all backwards. Cash Money is running hiphop right now (if wayne gets his unreasonable demands though, he could kill cash money, which would kill hiphop.)

    9. No, they’re signed to Young Money first. Wayne got to them first and they’re staying with him.

They don’t got a fucking choice. Unless they want a lawsuit, they will remain at cash money for birdman played a HUGE role in their careers. Knowing them though from interviews, they will remain on Cash money.

      1. They won’t get a lawsuit for leaving. It was Wayne who played a huge role in their careers, not Birdman. They won’t stay at Cash Money

    10. If wayne gets Young Money, he will have just killed cash money. Almost 100% artists are signed to wayne. Wayne’s determined to kill hiphop (Yes MMG remains but face it, they are usually more niche based. They are dope but niche too)

      1. No, there’s a million other rappers out there keeping hip-hop going. Cash Money and MMG are causing damage to hip-hop.

      2. Nope. Rappers that focus on hip-hop. There are tons of rappers making hip-hop and the ones at Cash Money and MMG are not one of them.

    11. House is for the clubs while pop is for whiny teens. Paris is house, Kevin is rock, and Austin (he’s nothing like bieber) is R&B/House. Drake is R&B and Nicki is Hiphop with a bit of R&B and house every now and then. And no artist at cash money is doing reality tv.

      1. Pop music gets played at clubs too and whiny teens listen to house, they’re the same. Paris is pop, Kevin is pop, Austin is pop (he is everything like Bieber; hair, clothes, fake black accent, shitty pop music, everything), and Drake and Nicki are all pop (Hold On, Super Bass, etc.). Paris Hilton got famous off of reality TV.

      2. Yeah but pop music was made for girls and house is made for clubs. Lots of girls go to clubs. Paris is House, Kevin is rock, Austin is R&B (he doesn’t sound black and neither does bieber, who’s also dope), and drake and nicki are hiphop (Hold on is R&B and superbass is electrohop). Paris Hilton was signed after her reality endeavours. Tyga doesn’t count either because he’s no longer wishing to be family with Cash money.

      3. So you’re saying that pop and house are the same. Paris’s music is Katy Perry pop music, Kevin’s music sounds nothing like rock, Austin is pop and sounds nothing like R&B (same for Bieber, who does sound black like Austin and they both suck). Drake and Nicki are not hip-hop as both Hold On and Superbass are both pop. Paris still does reality television. You know nothing about music.

      4. I didnt say that at all dumbass. House is for the clubs and pop is for whiny girls. They aren’t the same. Paris is nothing like katy perry, Kevin does rock but a bit country recently, Austin Mahone sounds like R&B (my sis is a big fan of him). Drake and Nicki are hiphop/R&B. And young thug and richie homie are the new hiphop kids on cash money’s block. Paris isn’t doing reality anymore.

      5. Like I said, lots of clubs play pop music and whiny girls listen to house. They’re pretty interchangable. Paris is EXACTLY like Katy Perry, Kevin doesn’t do rock or country, only pop, Austin sounds nothing like R&B, only boy-band pop (your sister is 12 years old and is his only fan). Drake and Nicki are pop and so are Fake Young Thug and Poor Homie Quan, who aren’t Cash Money artists. Paris is still doing reality TV.

    12. GUYS!!! ITS ALL A PUBLICITY STUNT FOR LIKE FATHER LIKE SON 2. THOUGH UNPUBLISHED, TMZ GOT A REPORT FROM REPUBLIC RECORDS REP THAT SAYS THAT THIS FEUD WAS DONE FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES FOR THEIR COLLABORATION! YOU KNOW, LIKE GUNIT’S BITCHING!!

    13. No, you got it wrong. Cash Money aren’t running shit in hip-hop, which is what they’re killing. You mean killing the competition right?

      1. What Cash Money and MMG aren’t. I don’t have access to a studio since I’m not an artist, so your last shit is pointless.

      2. BS, you got basic software that creates sounds. Thats how soulja boy was able to make legendary songs like crank that.

      3. I’m not doing that, though because it’s a waste of time and I have better things to do than impress some troll.

    14. They aren’t interchangable though. Each have their own style. Paris is EDM today. She used to be pop until she signed with cash money. Kevin is doing rock and country, austin is R&B (age doesn’t matter and his single, mmm yeah went gold along with what about love) and the other 4 are hiphop cash money certified artists. And what shows is paris hilton doingnow? Her earlier shows were dope too.

      1. Yes, they are interchangeable. Paris is pop all the time, no EDM. Kevin only does pop with no rock or country, Austin is pop, not R&B (age does matter and those songs did not go gold) and the rest are pop artists with two not being Cash Money artists. Paris is still doing shitty reality shows, nothing she has done are dope, but they’re the opposite. You’re a female.

    15. Shut the fuck up you motherfucking cock sucking bitch who disintegrates the smegma between their taste buds. You are wrong.

      WRONG.

    16. You signed to one nigga that signed to another nigga / That’s signed to three niggas, now that’s bad luck

    17. Just received word that Drake and Nicki both want to stay at Cash Money. According to sources, Wayne was talking about cutting their royalties severly from 80% to maybe 15% at best. Sources added wayne wanted more creative control over their albums. Sources say they are now mad at wayne and support birdman 100%.
