O.T. Genasis’ anthem “CoCo” is approaching gold status.
In a handwritten letter posted to his Twitter account yesterday (January 21) , Conglomerate label chief Busta Rhymes praises the music industry for the song’s success.
“1st things 1st,” he writes. “I want to thank every single DJ from the clubs to the radio, every radio station, program director, every radio personality, every blogger, every website, every media outlet, all of television and last but not lest EVERY SINGLE FAN for the love and the support that you all have given us by becoming such a strong and collective support system in helping us give to you our new incredible artist O.T. Genasis and his smash hit single ‘CoCo’ which is now approaching GOLD!! ”
Busta founded Conglomerate Records under the name Flipmode Entertainment in 1994. It carried acts such as Rah Digga, Papoose and the Flipmode Squad.
In 2011, Flimode flipped its moniker to Conglomerate Records. Now, the label carries O.T. Genasis and another up and comer, J-Doe, who Busta believes is “up next.”
He promoted the California singer/songwriter/rapper/producer in his note as well.
“Please be clear J-Does is up next,”he wrote. We have 2 major looks for J-Doe hitting your screens, airwaves and everywhere else very soon!!.”

I thought that song was trash since the first time I heard it. Busta Rhymes is a fat washed up ugly looking dude who took too many steroids and that shit just converted straight to fat. I used to be a fan back in 1997-2000.

Muscle degenerates and gets softer with a LACK OF EXERCISE, with or without steroids. I love Busta, that’s first. But anyone who supported this song needs to be banned from hip-hop. This song is trash and the fact that Busta co-signed this garbage makes me sad. He’s fallen way off, ‘KEEP FALLING, KEEP FALLING, AAHHHHHHHHH, KEEP FALLING’. Real Busta fans know what that means

The success of this song is an embarrassment, for Bust a, for hip-hop and for America.
Lyrics and flow wise, I always thought busta was in the elite. With that said, I hate the way he speaks in interviews, I hate the way he promotes, I hate the way he tries to run his label (flipmode & conglomerate) and I hate his tastes in fashion. It’s like he’s trying to be so many things that he’s really not or only somewhat good at doing other than rhyming. Even his acting is bad. IDC what parts he was lucky to get. Lol. If I was any of them leftover people from Flipmode or Conglomerate, I’d get everyone together to do a song/ep without that dude and have dope elite producers involved to make sure it was fire. Rah Digga, Sham,Lord Hav Mercy, Reek Da Villian Dready,J-Doe,Seige Monstracity (Dope ass producer),Nikki Grier (Dope singer and former Aftermath artist), Lonny Bereal,DJ Scrachator (still not too sure who this guy is. I used to get him confused with DJ Scratch of epmd but knowing it’s not him, I dont know what he can do),M. Cocaine destroyed my family as well as millions of lives across the world. Many have lost their lives due to the use of the drug, and the violence associated with the distribution has ended countless lives, and led to the incarceration of way too many young people.
The fact that this song is a “hit” and has become a part of pop culture is deplorable. I lost a lot of respect for Busta Rhymes this morning.
And, by the way, this OT dude can’t rhyme for shit, and this bogus song is a prefect example of hip-hop’s decline.
