TMZ has recently obtained Kanye West’s deposition in the case filed by the photographer he assaulted outside of Los Angeles International Airport in 2013. In the deposition, the Chicago rapper recalled being racially profiled in 2000 because of his appearance.
According to Kanye, who says he was a successful producer at the time of the incident, he was racially profiled when he was arrested and charged with stealing printers from an OfficeMax well over a decade ago.
He explained that he was seen as a target due to the fact that he was wearing braids and a white t-shirt, and added that authorities may have even altered their write-up on the incident to frame him.
“I was racially profiled for having a white T-shirt and braids…I was driving a white Ford Expedition. When I saw the police report, they crossed out where it said ‘Cream Ford Explorer,'” Kanye West said in the deposition, according to TMZ.

Later in the deposition, Kanye’s lawyer, Shawn Holley stated that the incident was a case of “mistaken identity.”
As a result of the LAX assault, Kanye pled no contest to misdemeanor battery and was placed on probation for 24 months, last year.
