Master P recently swung by Sway in the Morning with his crew of upstarts, Money Mafia, to discuss their new music and explain what it was like to work with Lil Wayne.

P fielded a majority of the questions for the group and spoke about “Power,” Money Mafia’s collaboration with Lil Wayne.

“It’s definitely historical,” P says during the video interview. “We never did nothing like this.”

When asked if Wayne could possibly join the No Limit ranks, P replies: “Anything is possible.”

“I rapped on his record,” Master P added. “He rapped on this ‘Power’ record and we gon’ build a relationship from there.”

Despite being from two different neighborhoods in New Orleans, the song signified a musical truce between two of the city’s most influential record labels. The song just happened to arrive during a very public feud between Wayne and his Cash Money Records boss, Birdman.

“I’m there for him, if that’s what he needs,” P says. “He know what he doing with his situation. He’s been in this game for a long time. He’s one of the best rappers in the world. I just appreciate me and him getting together, because we come from two different hoods in new Orleans and it’s real out there, but we grown up and we doing what we can do as men.”

P also seemed compassionate about the Young Money rapper’s situation. He recalled grievances with his own artists at No Limit and explained that “sometimes you go through stuff.”

“We swapped records, ain’t nothing wrong with that,” he says. “It’s time for that, timing is everything. I wish them the best tho, you know what I’m saying?”
