As the visual element in Hip Hop music becomes more and more relevant to an artist’s career, acting becomes more and more important.
Recently two of rap’s bigger names announced they will be releasing movies in which they both will be acting in.
BET caught up with French Montana and Lil Boosie backstage at their 106 & Party New Year’s Eve concert, as the two gave some details about what they’re working on.
“Definitely next year (2015) [I’m] on the acting tip,” French Montana said when asked what he was working on for 2015. “I came in on the “Cocaine” set of DVDs. I just love the visuals, so I definitely went to L.A. [and] I’m definitely trying to put something together as far as a movie. I’ve got a movie called Respect the Shooter coming out early next year.”

Lil Boosie also shed some light on a possible movie. Along with his forthcomingTouch Down 2 Cause Hell album, Boosie says a autobiographical film will accompany.
“In 2015 you can expect the album, you can expect the movie. I’m shooting my life story movie,” he said. “It’s crazy.”
Lil Boosie briefly referred to his Boosie the Movie movie early last year. While writing over 1,100 songs in prison, he mentioned that he wrote his own film as well.
“Well, I wrote my own movie, Boosie The Movie. I might shop it, but I’m probably gonna get my own money and do it myself and I’m gonna try to put it in theaters cause it ain’t no movie like this movie. This the real life story,” he said.
