An annual spike in sales over Christmas yielded a Top 10 Hip Hop singles chart with nine songs doubling their previous week’s sales numbers and Big Sean again leading the pack with his E-40 assisted single.

Overall, five tracks broke the 100,000 sold marker in a single week, a height not a single song reached the week before. The only new track on the charts comes courtesy of R&B singer The Weeknd in the form of his Fifty Shades Of Grey movie single “Earned It,” which debuted with just under 92,000 purchases at the #6 spot. Meanwhile, Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Boy” nearly reentered the Top 10 at #11 with 65,828 single sales last week alone.

Big Sean & E-40 See 145% Spike

After pushing 68,499 singles leading up to Christmas, Sean and E-40 sold more than 168,000 singles in one week bringing the track’s total count all the up to 868,309.

Nicki Minaj, Drake, & Lil Wayne Return To #2

Climbing steadily back from #4 two weeks ago, Nicki Minaj’s “Only” nearly tripled its sales numbers in a single week and broke the Gold certification marker in the process. The latest 131,000 singles sold brings the Drake and Lil Wayne featuring Pinkprint number up to 530,436 since it entered the charts nine weeks ago.
