Using the first moments of 2015 to release one of his biggest collaborations ever, Kanye West dropped off his Paul McCartney featuring single “Only One” on his own website and on iTunes on New Year’s Day.
Also on this week’s list, right before the New Year, Ice Cube used a live performance in Australia as the stage for the first peek into the upcoming N.W.A biopic. Just below that, a YouTube user’s Eminem and Kendrick Lamar comparison video tracks a handful of distinct flows from each rapper.
Lower down the list, DMX offers up a holiday-friendly cameo in a trailer for Top Five and Young Buck enlists 50 Cent and Tony Yayo for his latest video single.
N.W.ABiopic Trailer Released
A long-in-the-works Straight Outta Compton biopic finished shooting last fall and is scheduled for release at some point this upcoming August. Right before the New Year, we finally got a first look at the movie courtesy of Ice Cube. The AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted emcee played a trailer for the film at a show in Sydney in December and a fan caught the whole thing on video.
Eminem vs. Kendrick Lamar – “Battle of the Flows”

The more than 20-minute clip consists of 13 rounds featuring an Eminem and Kendrick Lamar song each. Among the featured tracks, Em’s “Rap God” and “Criminal” get shine while Kendrick’s “Backseat Freestyle” and “Rigamortis” appear themselves.
