Hip Hop has played its role to some extent in the recent protests regarding African Americans and the police.
Today (December 27) The Game, among Tyga, DJ Mustard and thousands of other people took to the streets of Los Angeles to take part in the Millions March. It was similar to the one in New York just a few weeks back where Hip Hop was also at the forefront. The march, which started at Pan Pacific Park, shut down traffic as those who participated held signs and chanted for what they perceived as an injustice to those who have died and/or been harassed by police and for a change in how African Americans are viewed and valued. Game posted pictures of some of what happened on his Instagram.
The Game recently made a statement on Instagram about the police saying, “I guess y’all ‘can’t breathe’ either,” playing off the Eric Gardner “I can’t breathe” based protest movement and a trio of former police officers wearing shirts baring the words “I can breathe.” He would later explain himself in a subsequent post saying his initial comments were directed at the three men in the famed picture and not police officers in general.

I can see the guy in the second pic’s brain! I want to touch it.
Black power sign…. You don’t have to take it to the other extreme.
GAME STR8 BEASTIN ON THESE NICCAS
The Game and Tyga are no longer biracial they now consider themselves fully BLACK
I bet after the march was over they all went to the studio to record songs about packin heat getting high and fuckin hoes. Rappers of there nature have no positive insight as long as there music reflects the exact opposite of what they “march” for.
we are marching for the right to shoot cops dumbass
Game carries the torch from Tupac.
Get your sick mind out of the gutter
just a bunch of out of control people that need to be disciplined but it’s actually much better to ignore them. don’t give them what they want.
I like the peaceful march. Reminds me of the modern day Gandhi or MLK. He does a lot for the black community. And by black community it isn’t a race thing. It’s about poverty and discrimination. The Game had a tough life and he deserves every dollar he’s ever made.
tyga is one weird ass lookin lil nigga
post a photo of yourself
Marching for their right to fight police officers, try to take their weapons and for the right to point guns at cops without getting shot.
70 percent of these protesters don’t have jobs and contribute nothing to the economy
Fuck the police.
I will just keep making songs about killing my own people.
COMPTONS MOST WANTED – ONE TIME GAFFLED EM UP = CLASSIC CMW GEEEEAAAH STREIHT UP MENACE
You must being paid to troll??? Nobody checkin for Mc Eiht at all.
i love that song game put out about shooting niggas
Me too man. Rapping about the violence you saw as a child is a good stress reliever. I was never good at rapping so I shot niggas in Goldeneye and Call of Duty.
The only people that can take care of black lives is themselves. It would be funny to see asian or whites holding signs askin other people to take care of their out of control kids. And this goes out to the people that are not taking with no jobs that can protest all day and night. Theres alot of black folks that know this and ignore instigation from the media.

It would be funny to see asian or whites holding signs askin for other people to take care of their out of control kids.Alot of blacks dont believe in the protest and dont have time with this nonsense. Its the ones that dont work and have all day and night to march expecting everybody to fix their problems. Dont fall for the media instigating this b.s. they taking are rights away slowly right under our noses.
I swear I am not trollling…I’m a white dude from Chicago that has never been in that life to ever be affected by something like this. I cannot understand nor imagine what the black population is going through with these MURDERS from cops. It’s not self defense, it’s MURDER. I feel wholeheartedly what these cops are doing is wrong.
I love true lyrical hip-hop music enough where I feel I can speak out. I’ve been listening for 15 yrs+ to Hip-Hop and enjoying the great music and the culture that comes with that. Sure I’ve been shut down many times because I’m white and not “Living that Life”. It doesn’t matter. I still respect and love good hip-hop music. My problem is….
In my opinion, the same guys I respect and love for their music are provoking violence and ignorance to their own people. I’ve been listening to GAME since Documentary. Thats one of my favorite albums and artists! I’m disappointed that all of a sudden his opinion is only focused on police. What about all the young black teens who were killled because of this violence? Thats certainly not justice!
I respect artists who feel they can speak out without sponsors and labels censoring them. However, lets let this be a lesson to those who do that. I would like them to spit more content that will help the culture, and less content about how it’s cool to shoot at dudes who make you mad.
Hope this doesn’t offend anyone. I love hip-hop to the fullest and I want to see it grow further.
You know that we artists support these efforts. 🙂
