With news of Dr. Dre’s possible return to music popping up every few months, former Aftermath rapper Bishop Lamont recently spoke with HipHopDX about the rumors and why he thinks the famed producer is the only one who should fan the flames for his future prospects.
“It’s so crazy when people always try to speak on another person,” Lamont said in a clip that debuted as a part of today’s DX Daily. “It’s kind of corny to me. It’s like, ‘Let that man speak for himself.’ So, a better way to redirect that question, ‘cause everybody else wanna speak on shit, if that nigga ain’t talking about it why the fuck you talking about it? Let that nigga fan his own flames for the shit he doing.”
In 2010, after half a decade at Aftermath, Bishop Lamont announced his departure from the label.
“Dre is still my big bro, but after five years of just sitting there, it is kind of unfair to the fans and my family and myself that the release date has changed when all these people are waiting,” he said at the time.
