Last night, Bone thugs-n-harmony member Krayzie Bone screened his upcoming television series Backstage in Beverly Hills. The show follows four St. Louis Rappers as they navigate the various peaks of valleys that accompany the pursuit of a music career.

DX asked Krayzie Bone why he chose St. Louis.

“You know, with everything that’s going on down in Ferguson, Missouri, it just seemed like the right time,” Krayzie Bone says during an interview that premiered in the DX Daily today (December 10). “I think that’s the realest place to be right now because there’s so much going on. I just think that as part of the Midwest. I didn’t want to make it Cleveland because I think that would be too cliche.”

He also elaborates on his goals for the show and what viewers can expect.

“I wanted the group to be different but project the same experiences that we went through as a group and show people what happens when you really get big as a group,” he says. “These dudes go through some shit in the series — some twist and turns that you wouldn’t even imagine but that’s what happens in life so it’s gonna be real interesting.”

Krayzie says he plans to shop the show to various networks.
