Dr. Dre is building a 10,000 square foot music studio under his home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The rapper-producer-Beats Electronics co-founder paid $40 million for the house soon after Beats was purchased by Apple for $3 billion in May.

The residence is nearly 20,000 square feet and is the former home of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen. The estate features gardens, waterfalls, ponds and an infinity pool.

Last month, DJ Speed, who worked with Dr. Dre in the 1980s when they were both affiliated with Ruthless Records, says that Dr. Dre will be releasing new material in 2015.

“Right now, he’s really motivated,” DJ Speed said at the time during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “People are going to be surprised. He got some shit coming out. Not Detox. You guys can let that go. Detox has been dead for two years. But he’s definitely been in the studio. He’s definitely releasing music. Not this year.”
