While in Chicago over the summer, Nas spoke about the issues currently facing the city as part of REVOLT TV’s “Chicago Love” documentary. During a newly released video segment, the Queens, New York emcee praised Chicago’s Hip Hop artists for informing the country about the city’s “state of emergency.”

“Chicago is speaking where other people ain’t talking,” Nas said. “They’re talking for themselves. They’re giving us what’s going on.

“If it wasn’t for the Rap artists personally, the whole country would not know the state of emergency that’s supposed to be going on in the hoods out here,” Nas continues. “So thank God we’ve got rappers from Chicago enlightening the whole world about what’s happening, because nobody else wants to talk about it.”

REVOLT TV’s “Chicago Love” aired Wednesday (November 26). The 90-minute special film was created by Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs and produced by REVOLT CEO Keith Clinkscales and Head Of News, Rahman Dukes.
