In preparation for this year’s Thanksgiving, various Rap artists have been giving back to their communities.
Big Sean participated in his second-annual turkey giveaway at the River Rouge High School in Detroit yesterday (November 25). In conjunction with his own charitable organization, the Sean Anderson Foundation, the G.O.O.D. Music recording artist handed out turkeys and canned goods to those in attendance.
Cash Money Records also held its nineteenth annual Thanksgiving giveaway in New Orleans, Louisiana yesterday (November 25), according to reports on Nola.com. Co-founders Birdman and Slim as well as newly resigned artist Juvenile were among those in attendance at the event where YMCMB-branded grocery bags were handed out.
Speaking with Nola.com during the day, Birdman says he enjoys watching the celebrated event evolve.

Mistah F.A.B. was another Hip Hop artist giving back to the community yesterday (November 25). He held his seventh-annual turkey and coat giveaway in conjunction with Dope Era Clothing in North Oakland, California.

Black Thought was also offering his hand. On Saturday (November 22), The Roots lyricist was a special guest at the GrassROOTS Give Thanks: Cocktail Fundraiser & Tribute event. The proceeds from the day were used to purchase turkeys for the residents of Georgia King Village in Newark, New Jersey that were subsequently handed out Monday (November 24).
