Gunshots rang out at Nas’ only London date at the Brixton Academy tonight. The Queensbridge rapper had only been on stage for about 40 minutes when the first shot was heard.

Initially, the loud bang was dismissed by most as a firecracker, but when the second shot was fired, everyone pushed forward towards the fire exits; a human stampede running for safety.

Nas had just finished working through tracks from his Illmatic LP when the trouble erupted.

Police were on the scene in minutes, blocking off Stockwell Road where the drama at the Academy went down. There has been no word as yet on any casualties, but stay locked in for updates on this news story as and when it unfolds.
