Ghostface Killah is slated to release his 36 Seasons album December 9 on Salvation Music/Tommy Boy music.
Get On Down will be the only retail outlet selling the album in vinyl format until January 2015, information being released exclusively through HipHopDX.
36 Seasons features Ghostface Killah following a storyline.
“Tony Starks returns to Staten Island after nine years, like a man returning home from a war,” according to a press release. “He wants the company of old friends, to reunite with his girl, to live a quiet life. But New York has other plans for him.”
The project features production from The Revelations and guest appearances from Kool G. Rap, Pharoahe Monch, AZ, Kandace Springs, Rell and Tre Williams.
Get On Down is also slated to sell a CD version bundle that comes with the album’s instrumentals; an exclusive 11”x17” ‘Movie’ poster; a vinyl LP of the album; a 24 page “graphic novel” booklet curated by the team that created 2013’s Twelve Reasons To Die graphic novel mini-series; a CD, including vocal album and instrumentals; and an exclusive 36 Seasons T-shirt.
“As fans first, we are super excited to team up with GFK for 36 Seasons and to be able to be the exclusive, and reliable, direct-to-consumer seller of the vinyl LP and the deluxe bundle,” Get On Down’s Papa D says in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “The project is amazing and the tale he tells is just bananas…Not only does Ghost kill it, but AZ, G Rap, Monch and everyone else that played a part really stepped up and created dope characters and a strong story. We are glad Get On Down gets to feed his, and our, fans directly with all of these dope pieces, especially the booklet and poster, which showcase the incredible art direction. It’s a complete package and we think the fans will love it.”

Leave it to Ghost to remain relevant. He’s the only member of the Wu to press out consistent solid solo projects.
Tru Story.
Ghost’s Consistency And Quality Of Projects Is Admirable.
Yeah meth easily could but for some reason doesn’t, even his Tical projects lacked real substance and production for the most part, he always kills it lyrically but e beats and songs just don’t mesh
Raekwon is still quite relevant as well. Meth is a great lyricist, but he seems to do better as a guest artist on other people’s joints or if he teams up with Red.
Meth is not a ‘lyricist’. He’s a rapper. That’s why he’s so limited. He’s dope, but he’s out of ammo, let’s be honest. He ruined his mystique by overexposing himself in his prime and basically becoming a stoner cartoon character and a caricature of himself. Deck is runnin’ on fumes and his delivery now is wack. He has NO fire in his belly. The only main members of the Wu with anything left in the tank are Rae, Ghost, and maybe Gza.
merhod man not a lyricist? Wow i guess your mom dropped u on your head son
Meth is at his best when featured alongside other MC’s. All of this post-Tical projects have been lackluster, perhaps without the RZA’s direction. I too thought he was out of ammo after Tical, but he manages to rise to the occasion on Wu joints.
I thought Tical 2000 was a good album, minus the abundance of skits. 4:21 wasn’t too bad either. Now Tical 0: The Prequel was terrible for sure.
That Judgement Day album was dope. There was just too many suits in the room while he was making that shit. It’s like he was trying to do too many things at once. Trying to be grimy while still becoming a pop artist, bunch of pointless skits that nobody will ever want to listen to more than once. But the songs themselves were tough. The Blackout albums were dope too. He just seems grouchy and uninspired these days. He’s burnt out.

Ghost is just an amazing talent, no other way to put it.
The Greatest out of Wu Tang and the best storyteller in all of Rap. His voice isn’t as high and energetic as he used to be but he still kills shit
watch HHDX give it like 2/5 like the mark ass tricks they are
Imagine how dope that Wu-Tang album could be if he let some of the other creative minds in the clan have their say. I think Ghost timed it like this on purpose. He’s trying to hold on to the Wu’s legacy inspite of Rza at this point. I don’t think anybody can say with a straight face that they think the Better Tomorrow album will be better than this one.
willing to bet starks was approached with this concept and the timing is to ride the wave of the reunion and bless the fans, not to spite rza
Agree. The Wu album will not be a good album for Wu fans.
Agree – this release is timed for the fans, not ill will toward RZA>
good thing its not on Soul Temple. his last album still hasn’t come in the mail and its been 3 years.
