Michael Taylor Bennett, an up-and-coming entertainer and brother of Chance The Rapper, was recently charged with beating a man at a college party.

According to DNAinfo, on September 28, Bennett and accomplice Jake Kalmin beat an Ohio man (whose name was not released) after he stepped on Bennett’s foot. The man appeared to be intoxicated at the time.

Prosecutors say someone else at the party pointed a cellphone camera at the incident as Bennett proceeded to beat the man, resulting in staples in order to close his wounds. He was treated for a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and continues to suffer from impeded speech and headaches. The party took place on 2200 block of South Michigan Avenue.
