Illmaculate says Eyedea was one of the best battle rappers.
“A while back, I got asked ‘Who’s your like battle rap Mount Rushmore?’ and I couldn’t really come up with an answer on the spot, but as I thought about it after the interview, I’m like, ‘Man, I definitely forgot Eyedea,’” Illmac says during an interview with BattleRap.com. “He was such a pillar.”
Illmaculate also says that Eyedea, who who passed away October 2010, played a role in forming the current manifestation of Battle Rap.
“I think he was a big part of [battling] in the early 2000s and shaping the landscape of battle rap in general,” he says. “His whole style, man, was crazy. He was super entertaining to watch.”

For those that don’t know about infamous impromptu Hallow and Eyedea battle in the late 2000s at a Cleveland party, Hallow murked him so bad Eyedea died a few years later.

Eyedea is in top ten lyricist of all time is battles are insane him vs brother ali is sick eydea was pretty much undefeated in all his battles i think he only lost like 2 or 3 outta like 1,000.
he was a good battle rapper, but he was a terrible overall mc. awful voice, no cadence, weak beats. minnesota needs to stop. except for the taki kids. they are way better than atmosphere or any of that other rhymesayers garbage.
