When Mannie Fresh looks at producers in Rap today, he sees how his influence has impacted the game.

“I get it from [DJ] Mustard, Mike WiLL [Made-It],” he says during an interview with HipHopDX’s Andre Grant. “Those cats say they grew up on Mannie Fresh. To me, that’s an honor, to see their careers and where they’re at right now, to say like, ‘Hey bro, you was one of my favorites,’ it’s incredible.”

While Fresh can see the influence he’s had, he says there’s nothing wrong with it.

“I hear little sprinkles of Mannie Fresh in their music or whatever, but at the same time, I did that too when I was young,” he explains. “It is what it is. It’s an honor.”

Recently, it was reported that Mannie Fresh has worked on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V and that the two have “great chemistry” on the project.

“We got great chemistry,” Fresh said in an interview with DX, as reported Friday (October 10). “We’ve always been A-100 with each other, regardless of what was going on with me and Cash Money or whatever. We just picked up where we left off and we’re doing music. That’s what we’re doing now.”
