Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports has signed Ndamukong Suh to its roster, according to a tweet Roc Nation sent today (September 8).
The Detroit Lions defensive tackle joins New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith and Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Hakeem Nicks as NFL players on the Roc Nation Sports roster.
In February, it was reported that Jay Z was expected to announce an agreement with Suh.
“It is uncertain whether Jay Z would negotiate Suh’s next contract or simply help him with marketing,” ESPN wrote at the time about the potential announcement. “But whatever the arrangement, Jay Z is expected to be in Suh’s circle of advisers, according to sources.”

Suh announced his departure from Relativity Sports in January, acknowledging that he was in search of new representation.
Last month, Roc Nation Sports hired David Itskowitch as the COO of its boxing division. Itskowitch, who has 18 years of experience in the boxing world, says that Roc Nation Sports will promote its first event by the end of 2014.
“This is a serious business for us moving forward, and Dave has one of the great reputations in the boxing industry,” Michael Yormark, the president and chief of branding and strategy of Roc Nation, said at the time. “Hiring him should be a loud and clear statement this is serious for us and that we will do this the right way. We have one of the most respected individuals in the sport leading the charge for us.”
Roc Nation Sports also represents New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, among others.
