G-Unit “The Beauty Of Independence” First Week Sales Projections

G-Unit’s The Beauty Of Independence EP surprised fans with its release, but many have already purchased the six-song project. Now, HitsDailyDouble has released its projections for the group’s first week sales.

The Beauty Of Independence is slated to sell between 12,000 and 14,000 units, according to the report.

Fans can find “Watch Me,” “Digital Scale” and “Dead A Pussy Nigga,” among other selections on the EP.

The EP earned a 4 out of 5 in its HipHopDX review

“With the old band back together, it remains to be seen if the respective members of G-Unit will be able to rival the quality of music that rocketed them into the limelight, but with The Beauty Of Independence, they’re clearly in sync,” reviewer Kellan Miller writes.

    1. MOUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

this is a fuckin huge fail !

50 and the G-Unit era is over

everybody saw through their characters how fake their relationships are.

after all the trash talk 50 had towards yayo, banks and buck these assholes found nothing else to do but running toward 50 for a g-unit reunion to get some attention again from the audience

    2. Now we see why 50 is has been talking so much shit about other artist lately. Bitterness and jealousy. This dude’s music making career is a wrap like Master P. He should stick to other ventures no one want to hear his garbage.

    3. lol when yall start projecting ep mixtapes? never seen another ep projected on here…matter of fact, i aint even seen the hip hop chart slaes in a minute on here

      1. Where we’re you male groupies when HHDX was promoting the LOXs EP? None of the LOX fans felt compelled to call their EP a mixtape or complain about projections.

      2. but HHDX never reported on THE LOX EP sales projections because they were so fucking low… it sold 8400 first week and 17k total

    4. Before posting a comment, you should check HitsDailyDouble and see if there is any sales projection on Gunit..USE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN

      1. hes basically saying they were gonna put out a g-unit mixtape for free but instead they split it into 2 EP’s to sell to the loyal fans. win win considering they would have got nothing giving it out for free download.

      2. Great way to milk stupid fans for their money if they are stupid enough…..just take some mixtape songs and sell em as two EPs and fatten your pockets while laughing at the ignorant consumers.

    5. hiphopdx should keep up wit all rap albums sales dats been released this year, even if there not in the top 100…. we be wanting to see dat… we dont wanna go to the soundscan website and pay jus to look at numbers

      1. In other words, you’re mad because you’re on the outside, slapped with a reality that you’re a fan and Billboard caters to industry people who actually use the numbers for business

and HHDX uses their membership money to tell you what they want you to know. Either come up with the funds by assessing why you should pay for them or stop worrying about numbers that are worthless to you is the solution.

    6. Ur a joke it’s a mixtape with 6 songs that’s only on iTunes .u know nothing about music u lowlife loser lmao

      1. The quality of this EP is so shitty that the G Unit fans are calling it a “Mixtape” instead of an actual EP that is available on iTunes and Amazon.

      2. No faggot. This was originally a mixtape that was split into two EP’s to sell. Smart moves. 15k sales is still better than nothing which they would have got from a datpiff mixtape.

    7. Wow what a flop g unit is done I bet ja rule is loving this lol the only reason it is even selling this much is because of young buck he is the only rapper left out of g unit that is still relevent

      1. “I bet ja rule is loving this lol ”

Ja Rule last ALBUM sold 3k first week and less than 7k in 2 years so Ja would never laugh at anyones record sales.

      1. They have some defensive options to work with, here is the most likely Top 5:

1.) It was a free mixtape that fans went to ITunes and Amazon and purchased anyway.

2.) It had no promotion or marketing because Floyd Mayweathers literacy was a bigger priority.

3.) The EP will make millions that the members will split 5 ways and live lavishly forever.

4.) It didnt flop compared to (insert random rapper or rap group).

5.) Godfather Fiddy is rich and has lots of money it really doesnt matter to him.

Pretty much the same Ol same.

    8. How can they tell predicted sales for a digital release which came out Sunday

50 fucked up, no videos or nothing just more talking.

They need to do a video for changes, even the haters like that joint.

      1. you dont think ITunes has the ability to keep track of preorders and digital sales? Besides, 50 has released about 25 Instagram videos in the last month and been in all the headlines so this EP should go Gold.

      2. 50 cent has been in every headline on the Internet so promotion should not be a problem, especially when you have your own film company for videos and your own website.

    9. FOR THOSE NUMBERS TO BE RIGHT THAT MEANS WIZ WENT FROM SELLING 90K TO LIKE 5 BECAUSE THEY ARE TOPPING HIM THIS WEEK

    10. Imagine the promotion this EP could have had if 50 would have invested all the energy he put into
Floyd Mayweather into his groups EP.

    11. My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out.

      This is what I do,,,

    12. Most people just downloaded illegally. They could’ve compiled this EP with the other 10 tracks they released for free since summer jam, have DJ Drama scream over them and made a “hot mixtape” (sarcasm). At least they’ll make some revenue from it considering they didn’t spend on marketing. I say it’s a win.

Mixtapes are for artists who dont have the ability to release music commercially, so they give it out for free. It doesn’t make sense for them to release mixtapes anymore, considering there aren’t any labels telling them what to do.

      1. Yeah they were gonna give out a mixtape for the fans but split it up into 2 EP’s to sell on itunes. The fans who want it are gonna hear it either way whether they support it and pay or download it for free.

Also should be noted that G-Unit is probably putting up decent numbers all over the world, not just in the USA like some rappers.

      2. J Cole has dropped two Gold albums in the last 4 years and dropped two dope mix tapes in between that time so your lie about why artists release mix tapes is misinformed and wrong.

      3. What lie? I simply said what G-Unit decided to with splitting a mixtape into two EPs. It doesn’t necessarily apply to all artists and has nothing to do with J Cole.

Cole could have easily sold those mixtapes and covered some of the productions costs.

    13. EP’s never do numbers so that’s not bad for a surprise EP that a lot of their fans likely don’t even know about still.

      1. you dont have a life or a job if you think checking the ITunes chart on your phone requires sitting on a computer all day, you must live a sheltered life of you have time to comment to strangers but not the time to search for new music.

      2. Shhhhhh, you’re gonna hurt Bruthadee’s feelings talking about lives, friends and jobs. He be on DX and SOHH all day writing paragraphs about how evil white people are and how 50 is irrelevant.

      3. Again, people with families, jobs, friends, social lives don’t be checking Itunes charts on their phone everyday looking for new hip-hop EP’s to buy, especially people who don’t buy music on Itunes ever in the first place…

      4. exactly, people with family, friends, lovers, jobs, and social lives can go online and type in comment sections on HipHop websites but they cant push a button on their Iphone to see newly released music……gotcha.

      5. it’s all about priorities. and i wasn’t speaking about myself as i purchased the ep on itunes as soon as i saw it was released.

    14. The Lox only sold 8k first week with their EP so this is pretty good for a hip-hop group outta NYC that’s not following the current trends and using all the same features.

    15. Someone with huge buzz and promotion like Kreyshawn sold 8 thousand, soulja boy with videos droppin every week sold 12 thousand…if someone drops a surprise EP with no promotion, barely any videos and sells 15 thousand, thats a win

      1. Yeah, 5 Platinum/Gold rappers who are in the headlines everyday can call it a “win” when their EP is doing Riff Raff numbers.

      2. since when is Kidd Kidd a gold/platinum rapper?

These niggas ain’t gone gold/plat in YEARS so your expectations seems way too high for someone who isn’t even a fan Bruthadee, keep hatin though it’s funny how butthurt you are about 50 Cent.

      3. Kreayshawn? You comparing a white chick with dudes that went Diamond? Damn homie of you think Kreayshawn had “huge” promotion then you must think Animal Ambitions was a mixtape.

      4. she sold 8k copies? I’d like some proof of that. Didn’t she show some statement on the internet that said she made $0.01 off that album?

      5. no she sold 3900 first week

“Somethin’ ‘Bout Kreay debuted at number 112 on the Billboard 200 in its first week of release,[24] selling 3,900 copies.[25] The physical copy of the album was only sold at Hot Topic, a fact that’s probably linked with its poor commercial success.[26] Kreayshawn joked about its weak sales on her Instagram several times.[27][28] On January 16, 2014, Kreayshawn tweeted a screenshot of her portion of profit off of the album, the total profit made by Kreayshawn was $0.01.[29] It is unknown whether this tweet was referring to a week’s worth of profit from the album or her total profit from Somethin’ ‘Bout Kreay.”

      6. knew I was right about that penny thing. hard to believe she sold 4,000 after the 1st week but it’s not impossible so I’ll leave it at that.

She’s done making music, just an example of how they dickride anyone who even sniffs like their hot and dump you when you fail.

    16. Drakes EP “So Far Gone” went Gold but this weedplate from Woodface, Butler, Bankrupt and Chin will go aluminum.

      1. LOL we’re really comparing the current hottest rapper in the game to g-unit 10 years past their prime? Drake’s EP had promotion and it still only sold 73K first week.

The fact that So Far Gone isn’t plat like all his albums shows people don’t buy EPs.

      2. Stalley released a heavily promoted EP on Maybach Music Group and it flopped so hard you can’t even find sales anywhere on the internet.

      3. I fucks with Drakes music, the Drake EP dropped in 2009 before he was the hottest and it did well because it was dope. Most rap groups dont even drop EPs, a 5 man group on six songs, you barely gonna get any bars from your fav.

      4. So Far Gone was a re-release, many people already had the free download so there was no reason to buy it again.

      5. A more realistic comparison would be comparing 50’s sales to those from Nelly, Ja Rule, or DMX… or compare G-Unit to The Lox, Dipset, Mobb Deep or Onyx, all who aren’t putting up numbers any better than this.

    17. Hey guys it’s Friday so you know I’m gonna be up in this bitch all day/night hating on 50, replying to all you geek unit groupies comments with paragraphs about how geeky, white and suburban you all are for listening to Fiddy Cent instead of Ricky Ross the biggest boss. HHDX always cures my loneliness.

      1. How is it a failure though?

Isn’t it still better to sell 14k in a week then selling zero copies of a mixtape? Even if it tops out a 60-70k thats still better than nothing.

      2. After you subtract the production, recording, mixing and mastering costs you give Itunes their 30% and split the rest between 5 people. A $6 EP with 5 dudes and 7 songs is just stupid.

      3. “After you subtract the production, recording, mixing and mastering costs ”

Those costs were going to be there whether it was a free mixtape or a itunes only ep

      4. We’ve gone thru this before. If you think Curtis spent millions on production, recording, mixing and mastering costs then you’re a fool.

He owns his own music & movie studios, that means he’s not paying someone for time blocks, has an in-house engineer, he gets beats sent to him (we have yet to hear a producer was jerked by him), mastering doesn’t cost millions nor hundreds of thousands to do and the videos are cheap.

Doubt if he even spent 70 grand for that EP.

    18. “Anonymous:
Stalley sold 60,000 in total. But I forget what the first week sales was”

Stalley is dope but just like Gibbs he is a Midwest rapper with very little marketability and mainstream appeal but we need dudes like that to keep the culture balances so its not all Iggy on one end and Shmurda on the other end.

    19. I could care less about the sales. That EP is banging out my speakers right now. It’s sad how some guys are on here praying for their downfall and not wishing these young brothers the best.

      1. The only young one is Kid Kid and nobody prays for their downfall, nobody is comparing them to spoiled milk or calling them lazy on here.

    20. bruthadee

We know you ignored that Wale comment, you can’t have an adult conversation. You really are obsessed with 50 Cent and need mental help. You’re not even aware of the abuse you’re about to get that will make your condition worse. Just don’t harm anyone around you.

      1. That ain’t craving attention he’s obsessed with Curtis like a stalker. It’s been said this isn’t the only website where he does it. He doesn’t participate in other discussions except those that lead up to Curtis,

So Icey Boi wants attention, he trolls under Champagne Papi Life, youngsta, drake runs rap and trolls different convos. bruthadee may write a different name but the content is always the same, Curtis 50 Cent Jackson.

    21. “It was a re release worth the purchase, that EP gor Drake on everybody’s radar”

      ^ ok

I’ll let you think a “RE-release” is what got him noticed. Look at the term you’re using to say that’s the original source. SMH

      1. Sorry to show your ignorance but COMEBACK SEASON, in 2008, which was all over the internet and talked about on major Hip Hop websites, was what put him on notice.

About the time So Far Gone came he was already coveted by major labels and labeled “the future’, and the RE-RELEASE was for promotional and monetary purposes because the majority of the people ALREADY had the mixtape.

After that information, feel free to think whatever you wish .

    22. Ja Rule last ALBUM sold 3k first week and less than 7k in 2 years so Ja would never laugh at anyones record sales.

That was a limited edition album. Only 7k were made. It sold out. G unit can’t even sell up to the self made volumes. MMG is winning on the scoreboard again.

      1. Limited edition album? limited because it flopped so hard they stopped selling it altogether!

you’re probably the same nerd that was saying Rick Ross is unlimited diamond due to unlimited digital copies available on itunes.

    23. “A more realistic comparison would be comparing 50’s sales to those from Nelly, Ja Rule, or DMX… or compare G-Unit to The Lox, Dipset, Mobb Deep or Onyx, all who aren’t putting up numbers any better than this.”

all those solo artists have fallen off, but why would you include Onyx, Lox, and Mobb when they came out in the 90’s? G Unit debuted in 2003…shit Onyx and Mobb debute in 1993.

It would be unrealistic to compare Dipset to G Unit considering that the Dips only superstar was Camron while G Unit had Game, Buck and Banks (platinum) and Yayo (Gold) all led by 50cent (Diamond)…

I think 50 would compare his solo sales to Game’s since he claims to have ghostwritten all of Game’s hit songs and was the only reason for his success.

      1. I would say Jim Jones and Juelz Santana are a fair comparison to Buck, Banks and Yayo evan if they didn’t have the same commercial success, they are all on the same level.

“I think 50 would compare his solo sales to Game’s since he claims to have ghostwritten all of Game’s hit songs”

He never claimed to write all of his hits, he claimed to write the hits for his FIRST ALBUM. and newsflash, he never had any hits bigger than those…

      2. “all those solo artists have fallen off,”

Are you trying to say 50 and G-Unit didn’t fall off too? LOL every article geeks like you saying he’s irrelevant and fell off but now we can’t compare him to similar NYC gangsta rappers who also fell off?

      3. Nope their we’re never bigger hits than the first ones Game dropped but that goes the same for 50 as well, once the excitement of a new artist wears off most of them fail to match their initial success, I doubt Kanye will ever have a hit bigger than the ones he had when he was new and exciting and not Kanye Katdashian.

      4. Actually YAYO went platinum. Plus, why don’t people understand that 50cent has longevity. Just for him to be around and be talk about after all these years is a testament within it’s self. Every artist has there time to shine.

    24. just keep cranking out projects, feed the streets. fuck sales. ain’t no money there anways it’s just a promo tool for the shows and i know all the g-unit has been touring pretty actively on their own apart from 50 who only does big shows here and there.

      1. “it’s just a promo tool for the shows”

^ this is the jewel of experience

Snoop, G=Unit, Game, LOX, Common, Big Boi, etc don’t expect gold/platinum sales, these are nothing but new projects to reignite the fan-base to get the tour dates booked. They have enough material already to do 2 hour show performances.

It’s the new people who need the huge sales to prove their worth in the industry.

    25. “We’ve gone thru this before. If you think Curtis spent millions on production, recording, mixing and mastering costs then you’re a fool.”

Who said he spent millions? it sounds like he only spent 50K and sold it to fools who thought he actually invested some real money into it,

Now I could see if he had elite producers, live musicians, sample clearances, guest features and someone like Grunderson doing the mastering with Dre on the mixing but this is obviously a cheap product with cheap videos to match so the lack of consumer support should be no surprise.

      1. you have no idea what you’re talkin about. you didnt even listen to it. what cheap videos? there are no videos for this EP yet.

      2. “After you subtract the production, recording, mixing and mastering costs you give Itunes their 30% and split the rest between 5 people. A $6 EP with 5 dudes and 7 songs is just stupid.”

^ THIS is the original comment I responded to. The emphasis is “he spent alot for a $6 album that they can’t split the remainder and had a ton of overhead costs to begin with”.

But it’s not a full fledged studio album, the consumer support they’re looking for is the REUNION TOUR. The consensus here is many of you expected this to somehow sell 4-8m copies and that’s just the thinking of the immature, misinformed, and plain idiotic.

      3. Hopefully they can split their reunion tour money between the 5 of them and pay their taxes, I would hate to see Buck go through another IRS audit of his possessions. somebody post up the tour dates.

    26. EP or not they shouldn’t be selling that little with all the internet dick riders 50 Cent has. 7 million followers on twitter with 12,000 sales??? Damn that’s bad

    27. Why should the fans care about the music if the people who make the music are more focused on a boxers reading abilities than they are on their fans response to their music?

      1. How do you know what he’s focused on? Because you read a few HHDX headlines about some shit he puts on instagram for a joke?

    28. How the (not-so)mighty have fallen. Boo fucking hoo. I guess it’s lights out for this monkey and his crew. First, 50’s solo album sells 45k, now his G-Eunuch crew churns out damn near 1/3 of that. It’s over for these bunch of lame wanna be gangsters. Face it, they’re never going to do the numbers that they did 10, 11 years ago. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but their time is done.

      1. Ross go plat yet or nah? Sorry to break it to you but they’re not going anywhere, they have no major label to answer to so expect another EP this fall.

      2. What the hell does it matter if he went platinum or not? Some shiny, metallic certification plaque should not define the quality of an album, and Mastermind was 100% solid quality. If you really loved Ross like I’m sure you all secretly do, then you should have been camped out @ all the record stores and shooting niggas left and right like you would when you’re waiting for the latest pair of Jordan’s.

      3. Willie Roberts has no plats, never had any plats, never will have any plats, and Rozay O’Donnell’s mad as fuck because MMG ain’t shit

      4. “Willie Roberts has no plats, never had any plats, never will have any plats, and Rozay O’Donnell’s mad as fuck because MMG ain’t shit”

Again, what the ever loving FUCK is your point? What does platinum or gold have to do with anything? That shouldn’t have to prove success, and only a brain dead groupie like yourself would use the subject of sales as a weak counterargument

      5. you just contradicted yourself there bud. in your original post you were laughing at g-unit for low sales but in your own words “what does sales have to do with anything? That shouldn’t have to prove success”….

      6. It’s satire, you twit. I’m making fun of all you silly trolls that like to use the topic of sales as a means to equate your favorite rappers’ lack of skills for a silly plaque.

    29. “exactly, people with family, friends, lovers, jobs, and social lives can go online and type in comment sections on HipHop websites but they cant push a button on their Iphone to see newly released music……gotcha.”

      ^ lol

Like someone who worked a 10 hr shift and just picked up the kids and gotta cook and get them ready for school is like OMG, G-Unit just dropped an EP! Let me drop everything I’m doing and go buy it from iTunes!

LMMFAO, that’s how limited your life experience and mentality is, you can only envision a tweenager who’s life mirrors yours. Don’t play yourself responding because my example covers the ages of 20-40.

    30. i dont understand people.
they listen all that fake music and cant support the real one…
      G-Unit for life!

    31. hey Rozay O Donnell….its 20 fucking 14 u ever hear of the internet?? niggas dont sell records no more u idiot..rappers make their money from lots of other things besides record sales..

name one rapper who went plat or at least gold this year releasing an album??

      1. Fuck outta here. Technically, Pharrell is an artist/producer that specializes in hip hop, so he DOES count.

      2. “niggas dont sell records no more u idiot..rappers make their money from lots of other things besides record sales..”

From WHAT, selling girl scout cookies?

-They HAVE no production skills, they have no merchandise worth selling or buying. The only revenue they have are tours full of delusional Stans that pay to waste good money to watch them “perform” (i.e 50 niggas rapping on one damn microphone or mumbling and lip synching their lyrics)

      3. “From WHAT, selling girl scout cookies? ”

From concerts, merchandise, clothing, headphones, video games, water, alcohol, sponsorships, commercials, books, movies, electronics, restaurants, gas stations… theres a million ways to hustle in this industry once you get your foot in the door and build a name for yourself.

      4. “They HAVE no production skills, they have no merchandise worth selling or buying. The only revenue they have are tours full of delusional Stans ”

Bro how do you know what those men have or where they get money? It’s wouldn’t be outrageous to hear Banks and Yayo invested some of their G-Unit money into something that will continue to earn for them whether it be stocks or a business you never heard of.

      5. ROFLMFAO how ironic is it that a broke nigga by the name of “Banks” has any kind of stock worth investing? Child, please. 50’s the one that called his flunkies lazy, and sadly, he’s right. And Phony Yayo? Don’t even get me started on that sorry clown. I’m sure Shitty Cent tosses him a few bucks to be his hypeman, pass out flyers to one of his concerts, and catch a cab instead of riding in a comfortable tour bus.

      6. they were lazy because they could afford to be, i.e. they don’t need the money like your fav rappers who out here doing 6 shows a week.

      1. Child, please. It’s a gift to all of Gunplay’s fans who were grateful and loyal enough to patiently await the arrival of his debut album, hence the Christmas date. We can all breathe a sigh of relief now that Living Legend has an official release date.

      1. Ross was not around a decade ago. And he never really put up numbers, still ain’t plat. 2 albums not even gold.

      2. dude who gives a shit, okay? platinum don’t mean a damn thing. he HAS done some serious numbers and long as he does, then that’s all that should matter.

      3. Wayne has no problem doing numbers that put him in the Top 5 every year, same with King Tip and you know Jeezy will do his numbers to get that Top 5 and they have been out over a decade. Sadly nobody but new recruits and a few elite vets are selling a million.

In 2008 we had The Carter going 3X Plat’ and T.I., Kanye and Game were Plat’ and the Gold artists were Jeezy, Ross, Plies, Luda and Nas, now by 01/09/2014 no HipHop album released in 2014 has sold more than 400k!

Streaming, illegal downloads, free mix tapes and interest in other genres have cut sales crazy.

    32. This world is so fucked up. They hated on Jesus.
50 too real for this fake world.
People hate Fif so much. Thats because he bodied your favorite rapper? Thats what he do with fake ones. Thats true and you cant do nothing about it. Only hate…

    33. My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out.

      This is what I do,,,,

    34. Wow 50’s group sold more than Officer Ricky’s group Triple C’s who was on Def Jam at the time and that was years ago when people still bought albums…

      1. forgot all about triple cheese. no wonder gunplay is still waiting for his first release date at 35 years old.

      2. The crazy thing is that none of Triple C’s even had solo deals when they dropped their album, and now they are being compared to Platinum rappers like Buck, and Banks…..sheesh how the mighty have fallen.

      3. Triple cs isnt a well known group unlike g unit. G unit should be compared with the self made volumes and they aint selling 1/3rd of the last album. And MMG set for life so sales don’t matter to mmg, unlike g unit which is struggling.

      4. The sad fact is that in 2003 Fifty Cents was the biggest artist in the world and in 2003 he dropped the G Unit album and it sold over 2 million copies domestically, now in 2014 you have G Unit being compared to some local Florida dudes who put out a flop album.

    35. Look at how hard he’s going at Curtis and the whole team as Rozay O’Donnell, took teeth-boy’s old name

    36. Thats a bad look on gunit. Stalley sold 35000 first week alone and that featured a almost no named and did not have the promotion g unit got. Thats am L for g unit and a w for MMG.

    37. “The only young one is Kid Kid”

Ah that young money snitch that filmed dj k haleds mother. That guy wasnirrelevant since he crawled to 50 yet still doesnt have a release date.

      1. the cats who filmed her had on a thisis50 shirt, kidd kidd did not even know 50 then but french sure did

    38. rick ross a fraud. meek mill overrated. stalley is ight. This new Gunit ep is fire. its that raw mixtape music. gangsta rap is still alive. thank u g-unit

    39. Who cares about numbers when the EP is fire, makes me laugh when people try to compare a rap group that have been out for 10+ years to new rappers that are in their prime and expect them to do the same numbers

    40. the lox did 8400 first week wit no video, promotion or news interest on a 4 song ep. but I fucks wit g-unit . this mmg yung money bullshit is a joke these days fuck yall ppl be buying yo

      1. This EP also had no promotion or video prior to the release so it’s easy to see why they were so close. NY gangsta rap doesn’t sell in 2014 unless you’re jocking the south like Shmurda and French.

    41. Trash, how can a EP from a bunch of platinum millionaires sell as much as Freddie Gibbs & Mad Lib? The public is tired of their corny raps and need substance from J Cole and K Dot.

    42. “It’s satire, you twit. I’m making fun of all you silly trolls that like to use the topic of sales as a means to equate your favorite rappers’ lack of skills for a silly plaque.

“G Unit 12k < Triple C's 12,100 Do the math, bitch." "How the (not-so)mighty have fallen. Boo fucking hoo. I guess it's lights out for this monkey and his crew. First, 50's solo album sells 45k, now his G-Eunuch crew churns out damn near 1/3 of that. It's over for these bunch of lame wanna be gangsters. Face it, they're never going to do the numbers that they did 10, 11 years ago. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but their time is done." "What the hell does it matter if he went platinum or not? Some shiny, metallic certification plaque should not define the quality of an album, and Mastermind was 100% solid quality." "Again, what the ever loving FUCK is your point? What does platinum or gold have to do with anything? That shouldn't have to prove success, and only a brain dead groupie like yourself would use the subject of sales as a weak counterargument" "The sad fact is that in 2003 Fifty Cents was the biggest artist in the world and in 2003 he dropped the G Unit album and it sold over 2 million copies domestically, now in 2014 you have G Unit being compared to some local Florida dudes who put out a flop album."

      1. you’re quoting at least 2 different MMG groupies here, one of them is Rozay O’Donnel aka teethboy lite and the other is Bruthadee aka trolly mcfingernails

    43. the cats who filmed her had on a thisis50 shirt, kidd kidd did not even know 50 then but french sure did

Yes he knew 50 bitch. He filmed khaled and then defects over to 50. Quit dickriding Kidd Kidd you bitch.

    44. Common , One of the greatest lyricists of all time, a fucking LEGEND. He dropped “Nobody’s Smiling” a classic that most don’t even know about because they are busy listening to ANACONDA by nicki Minaj and he sold 24,000 copies first week. This shows that it’s not a matter of music, it’s a matter of TIME.2014 is not the same as 1998-2005 , no one is interested in buying music, it’s piracy. but if you take a look on how many people actually downloaded this EP or Commons “Nobody’s Smiling” and count THOSE numbers combined with the actual sales you will see that people just don’t BUY it, but they LOVE IT. so at the end of the day numbers are for them not for us…we don’t give a shit as long as it’s dope and it plays on radio and Music Video channels.

      1. You pose a great point but it’s not the “time”, it’s the agenda. The new audience has been told that music is all entertainment (which goes against the very grain of what HipHop culture is) and it’s just for kids (them), so they’re going to gravitate towards that. Common doesn’t make that type of music so he’ll be overlooked, shunned, ignored, chastised for not doing a DJ Mustard/Yung Thug collabo that sounds like a ‘Fancy’ remix.

What we were talking about last night at this party (which btw, almost everybody didn’t know G-Unit dropped an EP this week) is that the sales are low because they don’t have any format for the elder statespeople of HipHop, not so much downloading. A good 8-25m people are being overlooked just to cater to this new rap music agenda of attracting the white teenage suburbia child.

We understand how a 14 yr old doesn’t want to listen to some 40+ rapper, but why does the industry force the 40+ HipHop lover to listen to the 14 yr old’s music everyday? It doesn’t make sense especially when the labels have a vested interest in old music catalogs (publishing). We said “the inmates are running the asylum”.

Rock has classic, lite, new music formats. If rap had a classic/contemporary format I’d bet that Common’s 24k sales would rise because he wouldn’t have to be promoted thru a sea of what’s hot, what’s marketable, what’s in label’s best interest right now music. A good conversation many people aren’t ready to have because they are caught up in the agenda.

    45. Translation- NOBODY GIVE’S HALF A DEAD RAT’S LAST BOWEL MOVEMENT. Fuck that has-been 50 the snitch, fuck that never-was yayo, fuck that fabolus wanna be banks, fuck that crying bitch-ass sellout buck, and who the fuck is kidd kidd?? Fuck you, fuck all of your middle-aged style bitin, washed up asses. The only thing more wack than you cunts, are the pathetic fucks who buy actually pay money to hear this garbage.

    46. People need to stop comparing G-Unit to MMG. Lets get one thing straight… G-Unit’s first album sold more than all of MMG volumes combined. G-Unit consists of 3 platinum selling rappers… MMG consists of none.

10 years from now people will still remember songs like stunt 101…No one is even gonna remember what MMG stood for. Just because G-nit is selling 10k 12 years after their formation doesn’t really mean anything. Take a look at their entire body of work before comparing them to wanna-be’s like MMG.

      1. There is no comparison considering that G Unit is a group and MMG is a record label but 50s legion of fanboys care little about logic.

G Unit consists of rappers who went Platinum back in 2004 (Buck) & (Banks)
& in 2007 (50Cent)….back when the Ying Yang Twins and Souljah Boy were
        droupping your “platinum” albums.

Here it is almost 2015 and the Geek Unit are bragging about an era a decade ago when Chingy dropped two “Platinum” albums back to back next to 40, Banks and Buck. Platinum huh? LOL.

G Unit was a little dysfunctional group that rode the Eminem/50 hype and then fell off and never reached their potential because Game came through and crushed the buildings and plus they lacked
the leadership to become their own bosses and expand their own brands so after the hype behind their debuts was gone they fell off and got replaced with LiL Wayne and YMCMB.

      2. to the person using soulja boy and ying yang twins and chingy going platinum when guys from g-unit went platinum as an argument: if album sales were the same today (meaning as prevalent) as they were in the early and mid 2000’s, guys like tyga and migos and wiz khalifa would be going platinum. french montana’s album would have gone platinum. all of those guys had popular singles(pop that, rack city, hannah montana, fight night, we dem boys) just like soulja boy and chingy did (right thurr, holiday inn, one call away. crank that soulja boy) its just people happened to buy albums of popular artists seven years ago, and don’t any more, so your argument is irrelevant. In 2004, someone as popular as drake is today (2x platinum) would have gone like 8x platinum. Throw album sales out, and go based on skill. G-unit is better than MMG is general.

    47. hahahah what a joke. You scrubs need to realize this is 2014 this is drakes era. Drake runs this rap game everyone else is irrelevent.

    48. Real niggas don’t pay for iTunes only EP’s!! We download that shit for free.. Just wait till the real album drops then if it flops come back and talk your shit until then shut the fuck up with the Unit sales..

    49. Ep. Is dope. Hip hop needs this ! Way better then all the other trash out ! I’m feelin this and all the remixes they been puttin out and can’t wait for more. G unit takeover has begun!
