Bobby Shmurda, creator of the “Hot Nigga” single, was arrested for carrying a gun in New York City, New York in June, according to TMZ.
The publication investigated the rapper’s past and found that he was arrested in Brownsville June 3. He had been “showing off the weapon,” TMZ says. Law enforcement officials found a 9mm in his couch, along with a magazine for it with 14 rounds.
Shmurda was charged with felony criminal possession, the report says.
This “charge that could land him 15 years in prison,” the outlet reports.

On Wednesday, gun shots were heard in the parking lot of a nightclub where Bobby Shmurda was making an appearance. Nobody was harmed during the incident, according to TMZ.
