The backlash was swift following a joke on-air personality Karrueche Tran made about Beyoncé and Jay Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, during an episode of BET’s “106 & Park.” While reciting a list of the “Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought About The VMAs,” Karrueche read the following as the third item on the list: “I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair.”
Despite following up the joke with “Sorry, Blue! I love you,” a video clip of the joke Karrueche read quickly went viral and immediately drew concern from Beyoncé fans.
According to Billboard.com, in addition to Karrueche informing fans via Twitter that she didn’t write the script for the “Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought About The VMAs” segment, BET president Stephen Hill also issued an apology to Jay Z and Beyoncé via Twitter.

Hill referred to the joke as “stupid” and “unthoughtful” and revealed that the fiasco was not Karrueche’s fault.
Karrueche also offered the following apology on her Instagram page:
“Past two days have been extremely draining.. As I geared up for a big day for myself – hosting a live show.. I never expected things to turn out this way.. I apologize to any and everyone who felt offended in any way by the comments made by BET executed through me.. I would never disrespect anyone’s child in any way and anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Beyoncé. My comments have been in complete shambles.. yes I am human too and yes I do make mistakes.. But all this negativity and death wishes are quite a lot.. Definitely a lesson learned from here forth.. Again, on behalf of MYSELF, my sincerest apologies #BeyHive”
“106 & Park” host Bow Wow added his two cents on the matter in a video posted on Instagram yesterday (August 26).

“Now, a brother like me, would I have read that shit? Hell nah. Nope, wouldn’t have did it. Hell nah. Nope, not me. Nope, not on duty. Not on duty,” Bow Wow said in the video.
Following Karrueche’s comments on Monday (August 25), it’s been reported that “106 & Park” is now on hiatus. But according to Complex, Bow Wow revealed that the hiatus is something the show does every fall.
