Tray Dee was sentenced to 12 years in prison for a gun charge stemming from 2003. The rapper pleaded no contest to shooting an occupied vehicle and remains in jail awaiting transfer to a as-yet named California prison.
Prosecutors agreed to a plea agreement and dropped two charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one firearm possession charge with the understanding that the rapper admitting to his personal use of a firearm and assistance to a criminal street gang. According to the prosecution, Tray Deee flashed a gang sign at the two men seated in the vehicle before he opened fire. No one was injured in the shooting.
Tray Deee, along with Goldie Loc and Snoop Dogg, formed Tha Eastsidaz back in 1999 and have a few songs recorded for their third album under TVT. It is still unknown what will happen to the album with the incarceration of Tray Deee.
